Universal Remote
Help & contact
My TV is not found when I scan
Make sure your iPhone or iPad and your TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, that the TV is powered on, and that you allowed the Local Network permission the first time you tapped Scan. You can re-enable it in iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network › Universal Remote. Some routers block device-to-device traffic (AP isolation / guest networks); turn that off or use your main network.
Which TVs and devices are supported?
Universal Remote works with many Wi-Fi smart TVs and streaming boxes, including Roku, Samsung, LG, Android TV and Vizio. Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Universal Remote is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any TV or device maker.
Can it replace my old infrared remote?
No. Universal Remote controls devices over Wi-Fi only. It cannot send infrared (IR) signals to older TVs, and it does not mirror your iPhone screen.
How do I cast my photos or videos?
Open Cast, pick a photo or video from your library (you will be asked for Photo Library access), then choose a device on your network. Playback uses DLNA, Google Cast or AirPlay-compatible receivers.
How do I add IPTV channels?
Open IPTV and add your own M3U playlist by URL or file. Universal Remote does not provide, sell or stream any channels — it only plays the playlists you add yourself.
Is my data private?
Yes. There is no account, no tracking and no analytics. Your saved remotes, devices and playlists stay on your device. See our Privacy Policy.
